Surf Foot

This is a picture of our final design.
Our goal was to design and construct a prosthetic leg specifically for surfing for a veteran amputee. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 we were unable to fully manufacture our final design.

Our Team

Gerrit Sperling

Gerrit Sperling is a fourth year Manufacturing Engineer at Cal Poly and will be graduating in Spring 2020. He enjoys surfing, playing musical instruments and camping in his Volkswagen Vanagon.

Sabrina Nelson

Sabrina Nelson is a fourth year at Cal Poly studying Biomedical Engineering. Once she completes her Bachelor’s degree in Fall of 2020, she will continue on to earn her Master’s in Biomedical Engineering at Cal Poly.

Luis mata

Luis Mata is a fifth year General Engineering major at Cal Poly, concentrating in Alternative and Renewable Energy. He will be graduating in Spring of 2020. In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, and doing other outdoor activities.

Ryan monjazeb

Ryan Monjazeb is a fourth year Biomedical Engineer who will be graduating in Spring 2020. In his free time, Ryan enjoys playing soccer, skiing, and scuba diving.
